I worked with Balmoi on different projects both in urban research and in architectural projects in Nairobi Kenya. It is a pleasure to work with Balmoi. He's highly skilled no matter it's design related or project management related. His commitment to the project and achieving highest possible results is exeptional. I'm looking forward to working with Balmoi on many projects to come. Not to mention cycling together away from the cityscape exploring and enyoing nature. I'm available as a reference to Balmoi. Warmest regards, Robert van Kats, MD BKVV Architects/ Chairman of DASUDA.

It was refreshing and inspiring to work with Balmoi as the UX lead on the Safe Hands Kenya project, delivering products for rapid mass sanitation as a first line of defence against COVID-19 infection for at-risk communities in Kenya. Balmoi's passion for community-led solution building, his integrity, his nuanced understanding of local priorities and preferences and his impressive design and technical background gave real weight to his recommendations and I valued and trusted his insights. He always advocated for authentic and imaginative ways to deliver and in doing so, challenged everyone around him to raise their game. It was a real privilege to work with someone so creative, talented and progressive and I'd love to find ways to collaborate with him again in the future!

Leading architectural research in readiness for the physical restoration of McMillan Memorial Library on Banda Street. He joins our Advisory Board to advise on the architectural aspects of Kenya's second-oldest library, opened in 1931. Book Bunk Trust is a non-profit organisation that is restoring three of Nairobi’s most iconic public libraries into sites of cultural leadership, heritage, public art, knowledge production, shared experiences and information exchange. Founded in October 2017, we are inspired by a core belief that our public spaces have the potential to be steered into more than just repositories, acting as critical spaces in Nairobi’s creative economy ecology. Our pilot project is focused on the complete restoration of the McMillan Memorial Library on Banda Street and two of its branches in Kaloleni and Makadara in Eastlands, Nairobi. The first phase of the renovation of the Kaloleni Branch is complete with phase two currently in progress. In August 2020, we will begin work on the second branch - Eastlands Library, in Makadara.
