  As a student, I helped to re-established the university society from the ground up, taking on the role of publicity and external affairs officer before becoming general secretary for an additional year. In these roles I contacted and arranged external speakers, produced and distributed advertising materials, and acted as a liaison between the society and students’ union. I was also responsible for organising committee meetings and taking minutes. I aided design of the atmospheric collection experiment on-board the high-altitude balloon that was successfully launched to the edge of space.
