My current role at Timbmet as a Panel Specialist has allowed me to gain a wide range of knowledge of many different species of timber and wood panels from all across the world. It is a very 'hands on' role involving the preparation of specified orders of panels for customers all across the country, as well as overseas. We also deliver to other depots who work in partnership with Timbmet. It a fast paced and ever-changing environment in which one has to plan out the flow of orders on a daily basis. Show less

    • Freelance commision art work (digital/hand drawn)
      • May 2020 - Jan 2021

A personal skill and hobby of mine sketching, whether it is digitally on ProCreate on an IPad or pencil to paper it has always been a natural talent of mine to draw in almost every style. During the COVID 19 Lockdown of 2020 I was furloughed and used the time to keep myself busy while stuck at home. At the time I just purchased an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil as I wanted to start my own personal business creating art tailored to my clients wants and needs. I started an Instagram page where I had posted some of my previous work. And during this time did some commission pieces for friends and even strangers who had found my page by chance and were impressed with my work. I would charge based of the time and level of difficulty of the piece and enjoyed the work I created very much, however upon returning to work it was hard to maintain and find the time but I still draw in my own personal time for myself. • Apr 2019 - Aug 2019

In this temporary role I gained copius amounts of knowledge working as a technician in a professional laboratory. Funded under the Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation. My role made me part of a team of scientists in the biotechnological industry who's duty it was to genetically modify insects in order to control insect populations and protect crops. The company had been successful in modifying mosquitos to reduce the number of females that can spread disease in areas such as South America and Mexico. And in this time I gained hours of experience collecting and recording data for other experiments within the lab. Show less

Developing problem solving skills and leading, aswell as working in teams to insure a smooth and successful work environment. This role included cashing up tills at the end of the day. Helping with customer quiries face to face and over the phone. Documenting and tracking progress of my team and general staff. My first job after finishing school was working at Max Events was very fast paced and exciting as it gave me an opportunity to turn a personal hobby of mine (Paintball) into a professional job. I ensured all participants were well informed about health and safety procedures in this extreme sport. I would always have to make sure that all rules were followed at all times. I would provide all equipment and over see games to make sure customers had fun aswell as learned the basic rules and skills required to play the game. This role gave me my first insight in customer service, health and safety, time management, organisation. Also allowing me to learn general maintainance with the equipment being used on a daily basis. Show less
