While I finished my degree, I worked at a daycare full-time and provided a safe, fun, and educational environment for children ages 2mo-5yo. While doing what is expected of a daycare employee, I also enjoyed building relationships with fellow coworkers and using incredible teamwork to ensure that all needs and more were met. On top of that, I built relationships with many families and gave full reports to parents at the end of each day. Youth Ministries Intern
-
Mar 2018 - Oct 2018
My responsibilities as the youth ministries intern at St. Paul Lutheran church include assisting with the organizing, planning, and execution of various youth events that happen on a weekly basis at St. Paul. These programs include: high school youth group, middle school youth group, middle school Sunday school, various retreats, overnight programming, mission trips, and other various summer trips. The goal of this internship was to make me comfortable with being able to plan and execute these events on my own. I also had the opportunity to create and facilitate wonderful relationships with the youth at the church and their families.

Directed and guided a group of high school volunteers who worked in a cabin with 8-10 kids and a staff member. I helped them develop their leadership skills and worked with them to build confidence in their relationship with each other and the kids that they got to work with. Director Of External Relations for the University of Iowa's Student Government
-
Apr 2017 - May 2018
My job as Director of External Relations entailed making sure that every single student organization on campus felt as though they have a voice on our campus. I spent my weeks attending different organizations' executive meetings. After communicating all that the University of Iowa's Student Government has been working on, I asked if anyone had any questions and then I got to ask all of the student leaders to share thoughts, concerns, and ideas for future initiatives. On top of that, my job entailed a lot of public presentations for administration and staff so that they can also understand all that was going on within UISG under our administration. Other duties included, but are not limited to: organizing and facilitating town halls, holding public office hours so that I was easily accessible for students, and tabling at all events so that we could be as transparent as possible.

Resident Assistant
-
Aug 2015 - May 2017
As a Resident Assistant at The University of Iowa, I was given the opportunity to guide and oversee a floor of up to 60 first-year students for two consecutive years. The role gave me the ability to use my natural relationship building skills to create a positive and inclusive home environment for each resident. I did this by ensuring that I connected with each resident individually multiple times a year while simultaneously using our budget to plan and execute events as a community. I always felt that the most useful skill in this job was empathy and meeting people where they were.
