In line with the government’s disaster response approach I provide technical support for the following phases: • Phase 1: Support immediate humanitarian relief efforts within selected districts by providing operational and logistical support to ensure that all affected persons are safe and that their basic needs are met. • Phase 2: Provide technical expertise to contribute to stabilization and recovery, rehousing people who have lost homes and restoring provision of services. • Phase 3: Provide technical expertise to contribute to Rehabilitation & Reconstruction. Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of the Provincial/municipal disaster management centre or his/her designated mandated representative(s) as well as UNDP, I provide • Provide operational and logistical support for immediate integrated response and relief efforts in the affected districts • Provide technical expertise to facilitate the development and monitor the implementation of disaster management plans and frameworks • Provide technical expertise for the development and/or updating of municipal disaster risk profiles • Provide technical expertise for the development and/or review of the Provincial disaster risk profile • Provide technical expertise for the development and implementation of climate change adaptation strategies for sustainable development • Coordinate and provide substantive inputs for the development of municipal Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) to ensure the alignment of Disaster Management Sector Plans with IDPs • Provide technical expertise for the establishment and effective functioning of municipal and provincial IGR structures • Support the development and monitor the implementation of a disaster management research agenda • Support the development and implementation of the disaster management monitoring and evaluation system and tools • Support effective implementation and monitoring of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act Show less
