  As a Trainee Geologist i assumed a role of being an assistant coordinator/"Geologist on site" for a prospecting project aimed at finding extensions of the existing ore body and finding possible new ore bodies. My duties included: - Plotting prospecting trenches~supervising trenching and face mapping these trenches. - Report writing on trenching and drilling (these reports included accounting for "progress on the ground" versus usage of allocated funds each month). - Plotting and pegging new boreholes - Managing 2 drilling teams(or 2 rigs) - Core logging - Core storing - Sample preparation - 1. Core splitting with a diamond saw cutter. - 2. Sample packing and labeling. - Color analysis with Elrepho machine - Report writing on borehole results - Borehole results prep for Surpac

  Idwala Industrial Mineral, Witpoort Pyrophyllite Quarry is located in Witpoort farm, 7 km East of Ottosdal, hence my location. For this 8 months i worked as a sorter(sorting contaminated or unwanted pieces of rocks from the good ore).
