Bio
Steve Handwerker
B.J. and I were front-runners in triathlon public relations at a time when the sport really began to take off. She worked for USA Triathlon and I represented various events, manufacturers and pro athletes. Through her media relations and communique, she was instrumental helping USA Triathlon and event owners nationwide take advantage of the very first Olympic appearance of triathlon and the star-studded team we sent to Sydney, helping the sport to grow in participation numbers and outside sponsors' dollars. The federation continued to grow during her years, as did the demands on the role she had, and B.J. stay consistent with her output and outreach.
