Through my affiliation with a local business, I have been able to witness firsthand Azonda's relationship building, mentoring, and coaching skills. The successful integration of an individual into the workforce and his ongoing success is directly attributable to this caring and knowledgable professional. I would look forward to working with her in placing other individuals with the full confidence in her commitment to their success.

As an Employment Specialist, I have been able to successfully work with job-seeking adults in bringing them together with local businesses seeking motivated staff. This process includes identifying potential employers with a focus on developing employment opportunities for program participants with disabilities. I keep abreast of employer satisfaction by contacting employers regularly to provide placement follow-up to ensure the "right fit" as well as follow-ups with participants to ensure their satisfaction and success. I also strive to build strong relationships with business and participants in order to build bridges to future job opportunities and long-term job retention.

Teaching is a wonderful opportunity for me to give back to the community. As an Adjunct Instrictor, I conduct classes in Criminal Justice where I provide students with historical and cultural perspectives. There are three different courses I instruct: Cultural Awareness, Introduction to Criminal Justice, and Juvenile Delinquency. Outside of the classroom, I use recruitment strategies to promote the criminal justice department and assist with reviewing textbooks and videos for the Criminal Justice Department.

During my time at Community North, I served as a family liaison between family and community referral sources such as the Department of Corrections, Marion County Juvenile Probation, and Indianapolis Public School. The position allowed me to serve the population of males and females with mental disorders between the ages of 6-18, provide community resources for families, and teach empowerment and use strength-based model. I successfully managed monthly budgets to help families meet their needs and goals, prepared individual treatment plans, and facilitated child and family treatment team meetings on a monthly basis. During this time, I also provided excellent marketing strategies to promote the strength-based model, and conducted weekly visits to children in the home, school and placement
