STEM Teacher- Pinecrest High School
-
Jun 2012 - Jun 2013
The STEM Infusion Program was funded by a 3 year grant from the Mebane Foundation. I designed and planned cross-curricular, STEM infused lessons and collaborate with teachers across grade levels to teach these lessons at Pinecrest High School. Our primary, but not sole focus, is on making connections between math and science standards as well as as heavy emphasis on real world application of those standards. We place a heavy emphasis on creating engaging lessons, that build on cooperative learning, practical uses of technology and inquiry based lessons.

Special Education Teacher
-
Aug 2010 - Jun 2012
My focus was working primarily with 9th grade students with a range of learning and behavior disabilities. We routinely addressed individual IEP goals and strategies for making a positive transition to the high school setting. Our district teaches the Common Core Integrated Math curriculum and I was an inclusion teacher in Integrated I and II.
