  Throughout my Sophomore to up until my Senior Year of High school I lifeguarded every month for eight hours on the weekends and two hours during the school week. In order to work as a lifeguard and receive a red cross certificate and card I needed to take a course during school time in which we learned theoretical and practical skills. At the end we had to take an exam which was divided into two parts, a written and a physical part.   Twice during the school year throughout my Freshmen to Senior year of High School I was a swim instructor for six weeks, teaching younger children/infants and adults how to swim and increase their skills. I led classes sometimes with another partner but mostly by myself. I interacted closely with the participants as it was a hand on job and required me to be in the pool and demonstrate and help them at all times.
