Ayaba Novignon was a student in my 2012 Introduction to Communication course at Guilford Technical Community College. She attended faithfully, was actively engaged in each lesson, and asked thought-provoking questions that helped all of us. When placed in small groups, she knew both how to lead and collaborate effectively. Other students were eager to work with her, because they knew they could count on her to complete tasks correctly and on time. In addition to being dependable, she listened well and stayed organized so that she fully understood assignments and the course as a whole. She was unafraid to reach out with questions and always willing to help her classmates when additional questions arose. Ayaba was the kind of student every teacher wants and the kind of classmate every student appreciates. I'm very grateful we grew and learned from each other more than a decade ago at GTCC.
