As vice president I sat as one of five students in the union board and one of nine students in the executive team. All nine of us devoted one full-time year to the task of leading and coordinating the operations of the union.My responsibilities were mainly for the union’s internal organisation. I acted as the executive team’s leader when the union president is absent and I monitored all the activities of the different student run task committees and guilds. I did most of the administrative duties concerning the student unionboard and the board’s interaction with the student union council. I was also in charge of managing the union’s total budget, and of presenting a new one for the upcoming year. It was done in a programming language I had never used when I started, but learned to master after a week or two.
