I am extremely privileged to be mentored by Awa. ‘Experienced’ is hardly strong enough a word to describe the extent of knowledge she has under her belt. Awa approaches every client and project with the highest amount of professionalism – she goes straight in, listens, learns and delivers above and beyond what clients are looking for. But just as she is expectational in her work ethics, she is a fantastic mentor. Awa never listed out what I’ll be learning; she doesn’t do the textbook approach. She taught me by going through each project together and guiding me in my work. She taught me by making sure I gained experience first. The fact that I always think of what Awa would have done in a situation I am handling, for me is a mark of how great a mentor she was.
