  This was a research collaboration between Kent State University and the Cleveland Metroparks researching crime data in park usability. My rolls during this research project was:-Collecting criminal activity records for neighborhoods around Cleveland-Collecting hand drawn maps of where the citizens thought crime was prevalent-Uploading hand drawn maps and crime data to Esri GIS and creating overlay maps-Using the metroparks data to map out new bike trails to avoid criminal activity and connect parks with other bike trails

  Working for the City of Lorain proved to be a very challenging, yet exciting time of my career. I enjoyed working for my hometown while learning valuable skills. These were some of my responsibilities:-Designing inspection sheets for property maintenance code enforcement-Enforcing property maintenance codes-Selecting homes for demolition-Securing volunteers for Revitalizing Downtown (volunteers to paint buildings and clean up trash in the community)-Extensive research into vacant property data-Compiling large spread sheets of vacant property data such as tax information, ownership, and foreclosure data.-Compiling a data base of pictures of vacant properties and mapping them in Esri GIS.
