I had the privilege of teaching and mentoring Austin during his time at Lasell. I also supervised his internship at Emerson Hospital. Austin took on a lot of responsibility in his internship and handled it very well. His leadership skill grew great deal during this time as he supervised other interns. Not only was his effort and work outstanding he learned new skills quickly and worked very well independently. I can honestly say Austin is ready for bigger challenges and more responsibility as he met and conquered every challenge I have thrown at him in he last four years and he did it with a smile and outstanding interpersonal skills.

Austin interned with me to create a team fund for Emerson Hospital's 5k Run~Walk for Cancer Care. The team, Dawn's Dream Fund, recognized a community member who was treated at the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital - Bethke. Austin was charged with determining the Fund's mission statement, marketing message, sponsorship opportunities, and social media. In addition, he created a production timeline with tactical steps leading up to the 5k. Managing three other interns, Austin worked collaboratively with each of them, identifying their skill set and helping them reach their individual goals. The outcome was a success, not only raising close to $9,000 as a team for local cancer care but creating a framework for future interns to follow and succeed. This was a difficult project because it was both professional with a goal of creating a successful fundraising team for a larger event, but also personal given the nature of the work. A job well done!
