Vegetation Maintenance Intern

I used proactive regional approaches for flood protection, and stream and wildlife habitat restoration, as well as riparian restoration strategies to remove invasive plant species. Assisting in maintenance and application of herbicides (organic and traditional), I used targeted spot treatment methods to manage vegetation and promote growth of native plants. I also performed biological surveys to prevent habitat disturbance of local species.

I provided students with the support and resources they needed to succeed, maintaining regular contact with new students. I assisted with many forms of applications, such as DACA, FASFA and new college applications as well as data entry. I supported our staff and counselors with student overflow on busy days, working both individually and as part of a team with fellow Mentors and Student Assistants. As a Mentor I attended and participated in all training sessions and meetings, understanding and abiding by all of Gavilan College's policies.
