I have achieved a level 6 PGCE in the area of mathematics. my placement was at Keighley Leeds city college where I taught college students of all ages. I gained priceless life lessons from both, my experiences and my mentor Andy. Being able to control a class, portray knowledge to students of different levels at the same time, whilst maintaining a positive work environment where fairness, kindness, and trust are incorporated, is only a glimpse into the responsibility and role of a teacher.

It was a fast paced environment that allowed me to improve my work ethic and ability to cope under the pressures of time sensitive work. I worked during the Christmas period with Royal Mail. I worked closely with Dr Peter Twigg on a paid summer placement funded by Translate, an innovative partnership of Universities and companies in the Leeds city region. I helped to, develop, design and build a prototype UV exposure and control system for high throughput comet assay diagnostics. I applied various aspects of past knowledge gained from my degree, such as using 3D cad-cam Solid works software and healthcare technology skills such as designing and building medical instruments. At the end I managed to complete a blog post which can be found on the Translate website at the following link below.

    • Call Center Customer Service Representative
      • May 2016 - Aug 2016

I dealt with calls to and from customers on a daily basis. Communicating respectfully and politely to customers was a necessity regardless of their responses. I had to be able to think on my feet whilst also dealing with a diverse range of customers confidently. This drastically improved my ability to present ideas and thoughts in a quick and concise manner. I dealt with calls to and from customers on a daily basis.
