ResponsibilitiesNew product development: Plan, lead and implement R&D programme to develop products that meet regulatory and business goals. Key tasks include research on new ingredients and technology, innovative product proposal and formulation, feasibility and proof of concept studies, establishing scientific evidence for safety and efficacy, prototype development, establish and monitor product specification and stability plan, conduct analytical and sensory testings, risk assessment contingency planning, complete documentation process.Pre-clinical and clinical research: Source and coordinate with contract research organisations to design protocol for testing and validating product efficacy, safety, mechanism of action and proof of concept. Review and analyse data generated to establish scientific evidence of product safety, efficacy, and claims substantiation.Intellectual property: Conduct patent infringement search for new projects, conceptualise invention and assist with patentability search to identify novelty and inventiveness of projects, support patent drafting and filing.New product commercialisation and post commercialisation support: Work with and provide technical support to cross functional teams including technical operations, regulatory affairs, total quality, marketing and customer service for various aspects, as required.Achievements- R&D PIC for several product portfolio in the Allergy, Oral Care, Joint Health and Weight Management categories. Regulatory routes include medical device, food supplement, cosmetics and OTC medicine.- Commercialisation of an allergy nasal spray product.- Filing of two patent applications.- Completed several in vitro, in vivo and in house product testings which include planning, protocol design and result analysis.- Formulation and prototype development of a few variants of nasal spray for allergy management, tablets for allergy management and metabolic health, and functional chewing gum for oral health.
