  Ms. Gemignani currently serves as a Photographer and Photo Archivist at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. She photographs events in and around Headquarters and the DC area, as well as internationally, including the White House Science Fair, Soyuz launches in Kazakhstan, and resupply launch missions to the International Space Station, as well as many others. In addition to serving as a photographer, she provides editing support, and archives all selected photographs. Ms. Gemignani is responsible for the population, maintenance and organization of a large data asset management (DAM) system where all NASA HQ digital files are stored. As the archivist, she determines images that should be archived, ingests them into the DAM system, and inputs additional metadata for quick identification and search. Show less

  For the last 10 years, I have provided photography services for events including weddings, reunions, conferences, panel discussions, receptions, performances, and press conferences. I have also photographed for ad agencies and government organizations such as Homeland Security. From 2001 through 2007, I worked for several portrait photography companies capturing families, individuals, couples, and friends in a studio setting. With this experience, I went on to provide portrait photographs of engagements, expecting mothers, newborns, families, and other groups. I also really enjoy documentary style photography and had a solo photography show in November 2010 highlighting images captured at the drum circle in Malcolm X Park in Washington, DC. over a two year period.   As Associate Program Officer (APO) in the Stability and Governance Practice at IRD, I managed over $100 million in funding for two programs in Afghanistan, Stability in Key Areas East and South. Since February 2013, when I joined the projects, I instituted strong communication, program oversight, and financial management tools in coordination with the field to improve project performance and ensure challenges were addressed rapidly with the most effective solutions. I served as the main point of contact for all programmatic issues, monitored progress, and implemented changes in coordination with the field when necessary. I prepared, maintained, and updated budget and grant projections, pipelines, and trackers to ensure financial compliance of the projects. I monitored and managed the submission of all deliverables to the prime with the highest quality assurance and quality control including bi-weekly program management, quarterly, and final reports. I conducted weekly conference calls with the field teams and participated in the design of programs and the development of proposals as needed. I initiated and supervised the recruitment of project staff consistent with job descriptions and position qualifications, and contributed to the selection of candidates. Show less

• Communications and Advocacy Coordinator

  As part of IRD's Communications, Advocacy and Legislative Affairs Unit (CALA), I manage the budget/finances, events, as well as the photo/video database and equipment for the organization. I write pieces for the IRD website, the internal newsletter, reports and publications. In addition, I serve as the media officer in the absence of our senior media officer, writing press releases and drafting responses and letters. I track annual foreign assistance and legislation focused on IRD priorities, and provide business development support through research, attending relevant events in the development community, and hearings in Congress. I serve as the public policy and advocacy representative for the IRD, organizing public outreach events, and serving as IRD's representative to coalitions such as InterAction's Public Policy Committee and Monitoring Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN). I photograph all IRD events and manage the organization's Flickr site as well as contribute to our other social media sites. I also participate in several IRD internal working groups - the Gender Working Group and the Social Media Working Group. Show less
