I have been cooperating with Mr. Panagiotou since January 2020. He worked as my scientific associate from January 2020 to January 2021 assisting me in the performance of my parliamentary duties (e.g. research on draft laws, preparation of parliamentary questions, research on legal issues). From February 2021 to May 2023, he served as Chief of my Cabinet at the Hellenic Ministry of Justice and performed his duties with particular efficiency. He was responsible for handling/organising all the issues relevant to my Office including the selection of the Office’s associates/assistants and advising me on parliamentary and legal issues. In addition, he was effectively leading and guiding my Office’s team in the context of the design, preparation and implementation of multiple human rights and international judicial cooperation initiatives and National Action Plans (rights of persons with disabilities, rights of children, combating racism and discrimination, initiatives against child sexual abuse, child-friendly justice, gender equality, cooperation with Ιnternational and European Οrganizations and the Permanent Representation of Greece to the E.U and the Council of Europe). In addition, he represented my office in the meetings with representatives of the General Secretariat for the Coordination of the Government, which monitored the implementation of the Annual Action Plans of the Ministry of Justice. He assisted me in the context of my participation in the Justice and Home Affairs Councils of the EU, High-level Conferences organised by the Council of Europe and the Conference on the Future of Europe (research and analysis of the agenda, preparation of the interventions on the basis of the agenda). He represented the Ministry of Justice in key evaluations of Greece such as the EU Rule-of-Law Mechanism, the Review of the State of Greece by the UN Child Rights Committee and the Review of the State of Greece in the context of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). He is distinguished by his ethics, efficiency and punctuality, and is particularly adept at meeting tight deadlines.

I have been working with Mr. Panagiotou for almost two years at the Hellenic Ministry of Justice on international cooperation issues that fall within the responsibilities of the Deputy Minister of Justice, with particular emphasis on European Union and Council of Europe issues. We worked closely together to prepare the Deputy Minister's participation and interventions in the context of the Justice and Home Affairs Council of the EU, High Level Conferences of the Council of Europe and the Working Groups and Plenary Sessions of the Conference on the Future of Europe. Furthermore, we worked closely for the preparation of the contribution of the Hellenic Ministry of Justice in the context of the EU Rule of Law mechanism. He is highly organised, has a team spirit and is particularly skilled in team leadership. In addition, he is highly effective in conducting research on complex law and policy issues. Finally, he is distinguished for his ethics and quality of character as well as for his promptness of decisions and actions.
