I am leading the Climate Resilient Economy Programme at the Africa Centre for Technology Studies. My roles include building a portfolio of research, policy analysis, capacity building, technology and knowledge brokerage within the programme and expanding partnerships (ACTS). ACTS is one of the leading intergovernmental think tanks founded in 1988 with the objective of harnessing applications of science, technology and innovation policies for sustainable development in Africa; visit our website at http://www.acts-net.org/ I am also the ACTS' contact point and lead person for the STEPS Africa Sustainability HUB. This HUB is a fascinating venture and a networked initiative bringing together four core partners; the STEPS Centre at the University of Sussex, the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS), the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), and the African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS). The secretariat for the Hub is hosted at ACTS. The HUB aims to serve as a research and knowledge-sharing platform aimed at promoting transformations to more equitable, climate-compatible and resilient development pathways in Africa. The Hub also aims to promote innovative research, capacity development, and south-to-south knowledge-sharing on the grand sustainability challenges facing the continent including pro-poor energy access, low-carbon development and climate financing. Bringing together researchers from across the continent, the Hub seeks to harness research and policy around science, technology and innovation to promote socially-just sustainability and to produce a solid evidence base with which to critically engage in policy and action towards the Sustainable Development Goals and post-2015 Development Agenda.
