I got to know Andrew when I was the Product Manager leading the launch of a new product called OnShift Text2Hire. Andrew was our team’s QA lead. The product evolved rapidly from prototype to MVP (which the team launched on time and on budget). Andrew was instrumental in ensuring that this brand-new product was released without any major bugs or glitches. Now, 6 months and over 20,000 text messages into the product’s life cycle, we have yet to introduce any issues for our customers. This is a testament to Andrew’s thorough review of all aspects of the app, including monitoring performance, documenting detailed test cases, and performing extensive regression testing. Beyond his innate QA talent, Andrew had the ability to see the bigger picture when it came to his role on the team and what was best for the app. He knew when to fight for a bug that absolutely needed to be addressed and when to allow a bug to go into the backlog to be addressed at a later date. He understood the nuances of how applications work, and that it was okay to ship a feature if the only one issue he found was an edge case that wouldn’t impact most customers. I really enjoyed my experience working with Andrew, and I highly recommend him for any team that is looking for excellent QA talent.
