  June-July 2022: Assisted a Latino/a Studies professor with research for her book, based on interviews she conducted with older Latinos in Chicago communities. The book discusses aging, gentrification, and social displacement. I compiled a source list of over 15 journals for the final chapter which focused on storytelling. I also provided feedback on the content and the level of accessibility for an undergraduate audience. Summer and Fall 2023: Transcribing and summarizing interviews with older Latinas and African American women regarding their experiences with aging for Latino/a Studies Professor Merida Rúa’s project “The Meanings of Elderhood for Chicago Latinas and African American Women.” Show less

Led a site team of five every weekday to volunteer at a nonprofit urban farm in Back of the Yards: Star Farm. Guided an excursion with a group of 10 to a cultural museum in the South Side Pilsen neighborhood. I also facilitated nightly group reflections on the systemic disparities noticed in the neighborhoods we each volunteered in.
