As Director of Product at Vizzia, I lead the team that is modernizing the company’s flagship asset management software. So far, we have integrated an entirely new map platform for customers that doubles as a CMS for our field technicians, added a helpdesk and knowledge base, developed industry-leading analytics, and redesigned the user interface to be easier to use and more accessible. These improvements allow our customers to efficiently manage their essential medical equipment, while also adding value for prospective customers and investors. Simultaneously, I manage a collaboration between Vizzia and the Internet of Things Lab at the University of New Mexico Electrical and Computer Engineering School. In partnership with graduate students, I research industry trends, improve hardware testing protocols, and work with industry-leading equipment manufacturers to provide feedback for their beta products.

As co-founder and principal at BASE, I led an array of projects including schools, parks, visitor centers, and playgrounds. I specialized in public-private collaborations and we helped numerous non-profits win grants for improvement projects for museums and schools. I created our firm’s branding and website, designed and maintained our IT system and software technology stack, managed our legal and contract documents, led project technical design, and managed staff. I am especially proud of my work creating a new genre of interpretation and outreach stations for parks and museums. This series began with The Roving Ranger, designed and built for the Golden Gate Parks Conservancy and progressed on to include La Ranger Troca in Los Angeles, The One Tam Ranger in Marin, and the Chesapeake Bay Roving Ranger. Berkeley, California, United States I started a small design firm that worked on a range of projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was responsible for all aspects of the business, including design, client relations, and building code compliance. Some of the more memorable projects were designing a dock/visitor center for the historic USS Pampanito at Pier 45 in San Francisco, and working with a large office park owner to design a public park on top of a high-pressure petroleum pipeline right-of-way.
