Account Intern
-
Feb 2021 - Aug 2021
Started as an accounting intern handling terminations and suspensions. I have gained experience in drafting formal emails and addressing customer concerns. I was given additional responsibilities a month after starting work, including managing customer accounts and processing payments. Quickbooks Online was introduced as part of my proposal to use software instead of MS Excel to maintain records. In addition to this, I was given the opportunity to research and develop a systematic method for future employees on the accounts receivable aspect of QuickBooks Online. I was given responsibility for maintaining the accounts receivable for the business, which enabled me to participate in the business's tax filing, thereby gaining valuable experience. Show less

Army at the start helped me develop my character. It taught me self-discipline and organizational skills. Later on, I wanted to enhance my leadership skills therefore I decided to become a sergeant in the army. I guided over 100 recruits during my service which helped me get a deeper understanding of multiracialism and the different values of each individual. President
-
Aug 2016 - Jul 2017
In my role as the president of the interact club, I have been given a great deal of responsibility and goals to accomplish. These include raising funds through events and donating them to charitable organizations. Our major plan was to organize a traditional event called dandiya night. The predecessor's failure in the past year created a lot of pressure, and our school almost cancelled the event. I organized the entire event, making sure everything ran smoothly, and it was a huge success. A few events that were planned were cancelled due to time constraints and exam schedules. Nevertheless, we were able to conclude our term with a successful escape room event, which I initiated and had never been organized before. It was one of the greatest achievements of my presidency, along with a generous donation of over $2000 worth of food and a library to an orphanage overseas Show less

Treasurer
-
Oct 2016 - May 2017
Being treasurer of the sports club gave me the platform to showcase and develop my accounting skills. I was able to prepare detailed budgets and maintain proper accounting records. I was able to set a price that would keep customers satisfied and earn profits. Returns from the event exceeded the cost of the event by two to one, and the remainder was donated to a charitable organization.
