ADG is a very busy international, multidisciplinary engineering design firm, catering for structural, civil, hydraulic and building services. I worked alongside some of Brisbane's most experienced Engineers and draftspeople. My roll predominantly involved working in Revit to produce reinforcement and post tension slab plans for large scale buildings, this includes insitu and precast wall elevations too. Some of the key projects I have collaborated on include 321 Montague Road, ONE OAK on Doggett Street and will be heavily involved with the 2018 Commonwealth Games Athletes Village.

WDT (Engineers) Pty Ltd is a general engineering company catering to the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning requirements of most aspects of industry. I was employed here as a Junior Draftsman for a little under 2 years, and in this time developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in mechanical, hydraulic and structural design and engineering. I was responsible for detailing steel shop drawings and marking plans for small scale platforms, mezzanines, sheds, pressure vessels and pipe networks. This drafting experience refined my attention to detail, while teaching me what information needs to be conveyed on a drawing, as opposed to what isn’t. As WDT was also a fabrication company, I was privileged to be able to frequently see my drawings under construction and communicated with tradesman on a daily basis. This gave me very real and practical knowledge first hand on how to convey drawings that can be read correctly and effortlessly. In addition to this, I also learned to develop a sense of pride in my drawings and work in general. I left WDT as my ambitions were in building design, which unfortunately could not be pursued through them.
