Utilize Solid Works in the design and development of low emission & high efficiency wood burning heaters. Conceptualize new design concepts from sales & marketing and follow through full prototyping, R&D performance testing, official certification testing, final packaging and then marketing. Responsible for CAD file management, test data logging & file management, change orders, fabrication drawings & instructions, assembly drawings & instructions, jigs & fixtures, electrical drawings, BOM management, performance testing to UL/ULC/CSA standards, performance testing to AUS/NZ standards, certification report submission, instruction manuals, component sourcing, quality control, trade show management, supplier relations, and technical support. Provide leadership and guidance to CO-OP students and other members of the team as acting head of department. Set up project scopes & outlines, prioritize ongoing projects, and maintain a productive & positive work environment. Have also spent the last two years working with UBC-O on a Zero Emission Wood Stove project with 4th year students.
