Chicago Occupational Therapy is an outpatient pediatric clinic that services clients in the Chicagoland area. Chicago Occupational Therapy offers a variety of services including Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Physical Therapy to provide a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. During my time as a fieldwork student at this site, I managed a full caseload, provided parent education, conducted re-evaluations, participated in interdisciplinary collaboration, and analyzed evaluation outcomes. Additionally, I collaborated with the graphic design team to create a gross motor resource that could be utilized by fellow team members for treatment purposes. I have contributed to the clinic’s blog and participated in research that provided information in creation of a handwriting readiness program.

Occupational Therapy Student

During my time at Swedish Hospital as a fieldwork student, I worked in the outpatient setting that specializes in hand therapy. I evaluated and created treatment plans for clients with a variety of diagnoses including carpal tunnel syndrome, de Quervain’s tenosynovitis, rotator cuff repairs, lateral epicondylitis, arthritis, and distal radius fractures. I became proficient in administering and interpreting the Quick DASH, Semmes Weinstein, goniometry, grip strength, pinch strength, MMT, and provocative tests as part of the comprehensive evaluation process.

Behavioral Health Technician

Caravel Autism Health provides Applied Behavioral Analysis to children with Autism. I worked as a behavioral technician and provided 1:1 in-home therapy services for children ages 2-17. I utilized behavioral principles to promote independence and adaptability in the child’s natural environment. I was the recipient of the Mission and Values Award, which demonstrated my ability to build a relationship with my clients, their caregivers, and to positively impact their lives through the services I provided.

Rehabilitation Assistant

Athletico is an outpatient rehabilitation clinic that provides a variety of services, including Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. During my time as a rehabilitation aide, I performed various administrative and clinical duties. I instructed patients in various exercises under the supervision of licensed therapists. Additionally, I assisted in modality treatments, including Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, and providing hot/cold packs.
