I provide leadership in the development of departmental and system goals to ensure optimal care delivery in support of patient access director and assistant VP for a 360-bed full-service hospital. In this role, I supervised, hired, trained, evaluated, and motivated staff consisting of 2 patient access supervisors and 30 patient access registrars (including 4 leads).In addition to providing patient access education and support to 5 hospitals and 50+ clinics, I developed and oversaw execution of special projects. I managed and directed all Patient Access registration functions and provided collaborative coordination of medical and nursing management of care. Duties included creating staff schedules, ensuring coverage, and maintaining quality assurance (QA) statistics.HIGHLIGHTS✯ Led team and project managed buildout and rollout of EPIC CrossCheck Patient Access quality tool across 5 hospitals and 50+ clinics. Improved entire health systems patient access / registration quality scores from 80% or less to over 95% in less than 6 months.✯ Reduced EPIC Patient Access accounts with registration errors from 4,000+ to under 300. Reduced financial impact from $7 million to under $1 million within 8 months.✯ Increased monthly point of service (POS) collections revenue by over 800% (from $10,000 to over $90,000) in 1 year.✯ Led implementation of insurance authorization process for diagnostic testing and procedures where none existed. Reversed trend of millions lost in insurance reimbursement. ✯ Selected for role of facility project manager for all non-clinical aspects (staffing, reporting, and process improvement) of COVID-19 testing site operations, testing up to 200 patients daily from 03/2020 to 07/2020.✯ Served as project manager, overseeing all non-clinical aspects of mass vaccination rollout project held at New Orleans Convention Center, coordinating state and federal resources to deliver up to 3,000 vaccinations daily from 03/2001 to 05/2001.
