Within the Toronto District School Board I have had the pleasure of working with different demographics of students in an outdoor education setting. I have been able to have students explore and learn their curriculum in a real life context. This included, having students step out of their own comfort zone and into new experiences such as hiking in the forest, cross country skiing, being out under the stars or learning how to canoe. In addition to this encouraging their own self discovery to push their own limits. Show less

My role at ALIVE allowed me to express my passion for outdoor education. Here I was able to work with different groups and help these students reflection on their own experiences, take lessons they have learned back to the city. Being able to foster the students energy and get them to push past just the being out of a classroom experience into the bigger picture. I was able to facilitate group and individual experiences for them to bond as a group. My role at ALIVE allowed me to express my passion for outdoor education. Assistant Camp Director
-
Jan 2020 - Apr 2021
Being an assistant director has allowed me to develop and grow my toolbox. My responsibilities within this role are broad and ranges across many areas; this includes improving current programming, developing new programming, hiring, training and managing staff members. As well I mange the outdoor education clients where I take them through their first communication to booking, having a successful visit and rebooking process. Here I have been able to hone my office administration, Microsoft Office and scheduling skills. Show less

Program Director
-
Jul 2019 - Aug 2019
This role allowed me to grow as a leader. Being a program director at camp I wore many different hats. A large part of my role included scheduling, supporting, running and creating programming. Another large part was ensuring that the staff felt supported and that they were running the best programming we could and being safe while doing so. I would also made sure that change over days were set up for success and canoe trips were sent with all the correct paperwork. During this time I also managed the camp’s social media accounts. As a program director I worked hard to have good established communication with the office team and our program staff. Show less

Aquatic supervisor encompassed many different responsibilities which included running programs, creating new programming and scheduling programming. On top of that I also hired, trained, managed and supported an entire staff team. During this time I was able to set the foundation of how I now communicate, relate and lead teams. This role also includes being duty manager and resolving issues that arise around the building.
