Direct care of preterm lambs included monitoring vital signs, recording input and output, interpreting electrolyte levels, obtaining arterial blood gas samples, titrate various medications and being able to analyze the health of the lamb(s) and make changes/ adjustments to keep studies on track. In December of 2011, I was promoted to Senior Lab Assistant for expert knowledge of the research protocol and how to keep the lambs physiologically stable. I was able to be the leader on the shift by educating and training new lab technicians. I was also responsible for effectively communicating to the various lab directors the condition and concerns about the lambs. Show less
