I helped hold animals while the vet worked on them, and assisted in some surgeries. I helped maintain and clean the clinic, walked and fed dogs who were boarded, answered phone calls as well as set up appointments and checked people out after their visit. I put labels on medicine bottles for patients as well as counted out pills for prescriptions. Filled syringes with the appropriate vaccinations for each patient. I learned how to check vitals on patients such as temperature, blood pressure, and respiration rate. I helped gather samples of urine for urinalysis. Show less

I watched Dr. Cliff Peck perform simple surgeries such as spaying and neutering as well as filled prescriptions, helped board animals, helped hold patients while being worked with, and accounted for deliveries of tools and medicines. One day I followed Dr. Peck around at the Little Rock Zoo and watched as he helped shear sheep, and checked on an elephant and rhinoceros that he had previously worked with before. I spent a total of 20 hours there over the summer, since I also had a job during that time. Show less

I worked with customers to help them find what they were searching for, whether it was a gift, or if it involved school uniforms. I had to memorize the different uniform requirements for schools in the Little Rock area, as well as worked quickly and efficiently as back-to-school shoppers filled the store toward the end of summer.
