I report directly into the owners of the business, head up the Finance Department of 4 people and sit on the Management Team who are responsible for company strategy and making key decisions. Key accomplishments during my time at LED Hut include (but are not limited to): • Conducted forecasting and valuation analysis on behalf of the FD as part of the Management Buy-Out process as well as acting as an adviser to the prospective owners. • Migration of the banking facility from Jersey to the UK involving the set-up of new bank accounts for all group companies. • Changed the way PPC was utilised across the group, leading to a monthly saving of circa. £100k. Introduction of banking facilities for Invoice Financing and Import Loans – including analysis of key ratios and covenants for the banks and negotiations of terms. • Introduction to the business of hedging techniques. Forward contracts and Options have been utilized to hedge against USD exchange rate movements – leading to a 7% increase in margins across the group last year. • Migration of the finance operation from Jersey to Manchester, including the recruitment of 4 members of staff to form the Finance Team. • Project Management of a change in accounting system, conducted in a period of less than a month as access to the previous system was to be removed. • Introduction of department and cost-center level reporting within the business, leading to identification of over-spending in certain areas and cost saving across the business. • Cash Flow Forecasting and Management to ensure the group is operating within its financial constraints. • Introduction of key reporting and analysis to the group to aid in the making of key strategic decisions. • Additional roles of Company Secretary, Fleet Manager, HR and Employee Engagement.
