  Around the time of the financial crisis I decided to co-found a real estate company from humble beginnings (my garden shed). Where there was trepidation we saw opportunity, other larger competitors had become bloated and some older incumbents had yet to embrace the internet and property portals fully. Within a year we had a profitable business based on trying to cultivate relationships for the long term rather than the "deal by any means" philosophy employed by some of the industry. I still enjoy the property industry and now with Elemental I harness this experience to help launch the next wave of proptech.
