At InvestSoc Asante had the task of pulling off one of our biggest events of the year, the Young Entrepreneurs Conference , where he hosted 7 of Forbes top 30 under 30 entrepreneurs amongst many other stellar speakers. What makes this so special is the fact that previous project managers said it couldn’t be done! Asante evidently pulled off the impossible. His cool, calm, and collected brand of leadership is one I truly admire.

Hi worked with Asante on the UCT InvestSoc committee, as well as in organisation and execution of the Young Entrepreneurs Conference in 2018. Of his tremendous skill set, one of the most prominent is his ability to lead people in way that doesn't seem forceful and which encourages those people to want to do their best in completing their tasks and upholding the vision of the project at hand. Through his charismatic energy and friendly personality, Asante is able to connect well on a human level with people and this is a major proponent of his strong leadership skill. Another skill Asante has is his shear determination to accomplish his goals, even when faced with unexpected and unwanted adversity. Asante is an overall brilliant human and I know that whatever he does in the future, he will do it with 100% commitment, while upholding his morals.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Asante whilst he participated in the British American Tobacco Battle of Minds Competition. This process was managed by myself and my Line Manager at that time. Asante, along with his two team members had formulated a creative proposal which had them win the Battle of Minds Competition for South Africa, the team moved on to be finalists for the AmSSA Region, and won second game place in the Global Round of the Competition. Asante is a bright young man, full of energy and ambition. If he continues with his proactiveness, diligence and hard work, I am sure he will succeed in his endeavors.

As the Entrepreneurs Connect project manager, I lead a committee that organised a number of events that provided InvestSoc. members with exposure to entrepreneurs across South Africa. Our highlight event was the Young Entrepreneurs Connect Conference which brought together some of South Africa's most successful entrepreneurs together, including a number of entrepreneurs on the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list. The event was sponsored by Sanlam and Bain & Company.
