The program has graduated over 5,000 alumni -leaders actively engaged in improving the future of their communities, Israel, and the Jewish people.

Director, Maher Fellowship

A 6-month leadership-in-training fellowship developed by and for the young-professional Iranian-American Jewish community of Los Angeles, between 21-35 years of age. Participants meet, engage and build relationships with experts, thought-leaders, politicians and influencers in the Jewish, Iranian and greater American communities. Fellows also partake in a fully subsidized trip to AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, DC. and engage in a civic engagement project of their choosing.

Teen Educator

Making Judaism meaningful and relevant to teens through creative programming including experiential learning, youth groups and community events for middle school and high school teens. Trained in Moving Traditions (MT) teen curricula (B’nai Mitzvah & Shevet Achim). Recruit participants for programs within the VOS and local community. Facilitate one or more of the monthly MT programs. Collaborate with the VOS Director of Lifelong Learning and Teen Advisor.

Maccabi Coordinator

Responsible for assisting the Director of Experiential Learning in teen engagement and program implementation for the Westside JCC Maccabi Games(r) and ArtsFest(r) programming. Assist all aspects of the JCC Maccabi Games(r) and ArtsFest(r) programming, including marketing, recruitment of athletes and coaches, communication, tryout and practice logistics, athlete registration, managing relationships with volunteer coaches, orientation and sendoff meetings, year round Jewish educational programming and travel plans. Fill the role of assistant group leader at the JCC Maccabi Games (8 days of summer travel). Help facilitate JCC Maccabi Tryouts, recruiting presentations, coach/parent meetings, and teen social/service programs, and year-end banquet. Develop sound professional relationships with teens and their parents. Collaborate as a member of the overall WJCC staff management team. Maintain Teen Program section of the Westside JCC website, Facebook page and twitter account.

Lev v’Nefesh serves as the capstone of the Schechter Westchester Jewish Day School experience by providing seniors with the opportunity to develop an even greater sense of Jewish identity while traveling and learning contextually in Poland and throughout Israel.
