    • Deputy Subject Leader: English
      • Jan 2017 - Present

My role is to review, regularly, the quality of teaching and learning across the department. I analyse the needs of the department with regard to teaching and learning and develop programmes to improve the pedagogy within the team. I ensure the teaching and learning is a focus of every meeting and develop coaching as a key tool for the development of teaching and learning. I have enabled Frog (our VLE) to be used effectively to support high quality teaching and learning. I teach English with the age range of 11-16 and contribute towards raising standards and achievement. I share with and support the school in providing opportunities for personal and academic growth. I created, edited and revised the English curriculum. I contributed towards the development of the quality and standards within the teaching and learning of this department. I regularly reviewed the data captures regarding assessment data for KS3 students and devised ways to improve the teaching and learning to improve the quality of learning for the students based on such data. I regularly conducted learning walks to observe and monitor the quality of teaching and learning within the department and as a way of coaching staff, experienced and less so, towards more effective pedagogy or behavioural strategies.
