Integrity, ingenuity and infectious energy mark Arva out as an outstanding customer champion. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Arva on a number sophisticated customer service opportunities and see her motivate her team to make a difference.

Having worked closely with Arva over the last 3 years as part of a partner organisation of MAPS it is easy to see why others have spoken so positively about her impact. Arva has always displayed a clear and unwavering focus to do the right thing for the business and its customer but also (and equally as important) for colleagues and partners. Arva is passionate, fair and consistent in her approach and somebody who I hope to work with again in the future...

The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) brings together three respected financial guidance bodies: the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. MaPS is an arm’s-length body sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, and also engages with HM Treasury on policy matters relating to financial capability and debt advice. It is funded by levies on both the financial services industry and pension schemes. It delivers across five core functions of Pensions Guidance, Debt Advice, Money Guidance, Consumer Protection and Strategy. As Head of Money Guidance Operations, I am responsible for translating organisational strategy into operational objectives and deliverables, including appropriate metrics / service levels whilst ensuring that people throughout the UK have guidance and access to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime. There is a responsibility to provide information designed to enhance people’s understanding and knowledge of financial matters and day-to-day money management skills ranging from debt, borrowing, pensions, tax, mortgages, benefits, insurance, savings, investments to life events such as losing a job, having a baby and bereavement. I lead and manage a diverse team consisting of quality assurance and compliance, policy and propositions, service delivery management, financial guidance SMEs, CRM and MI, contracts management, financial guidance training. A significant element of my role has involved providing a service framework (scope, content, design) and clearly defined criteria for provision and delivery of the money guidance financial service. A part of this is to oversee the delivery of front line money guidance being delivered to the UK public through a third party organisation within a budget envelope (outsourced contact centre) and setting consistent standards and strategic direction across all delivery channels to enhance performance and efficiencies.
