  Haberdash Couture Co was founded by Aruna to inspire people to embrace creativity without borders. Encouraging artists and new artists and even those who don't think they are artists, to delve into the arena of creative freedom by infusing whatever various creative mediums will convey their narrative into a knitted piece. This can involve combining knitting with origami, paint, haberdashery, embroidery, dye etc. Aruna's unique fibre approach was recognized on an International level when she was awarded first place for Debbie Bliss' Design competition in 2013. Currently, Aruna is an instructor and lecturer for Vogue Knitting Live based in New York sharing her techniques with students in hopes of reigniting their creativity and helping them to think in a refreshingly novel way. Creative freedom is only one of Aruna's goals through her art. Education, awareness and collaboration for humanitarian and environmental causes are her other goals. Aruna has spearheaded a multitude of charitable events, by working with local yarn stores & hospitals, and by inspiring children & established knitters to use their creativity and love for fibre to make a difference.
