  As a team member in safety I had to ensure that safe practices are followed for all the works in the industry. KANCOR is a food and beverages industry which is well known for its spice extracts, natural food colors, Oleo resins etc. Solvents like acetone and hexane are used in this industry which are highly flammable. Even a small spark can be dangerous. My duties include, regular checking of motor earthing, insulations, cables and fire hydrant system. Conduct periodic mock drills, safety audits, safety committees. I had to ensure that the workers involved in hot works such as welding, gas cutting and high elevation works used proper personal protective equipments to ensure their safety. I had the right to stop any work that didn't follow a safe procedure. It is to be noted that no major or minor accident occurred during my term at KANCOR. Now if I go to any work site (Outside KANCOR), the first thing I check for is whether the workers are following a safe procedure. With this suitable knowledge in safety I perform my jobs only in a safe way which ensures mine, others safety. Show less
