• Designed studies to evaluate the levels of cellular stress caused by Batten disease (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis) in various models • Applied cellular assays including western blotting, immunofluorescence, microscopy, and flow cytometry to develop insights into the expression and localization of GRP78, a protein involved in several stress pathways • Created cellular knockouts and overexpression lines for ceroid lipofuscinosis neuronal proteins (Cln) to evaluate how the loss of the protein affects the cellular stress levels • Subjected knockout lines to different chemical and naturally occurring cellular stressors to determine how additional stress affects the localization and expression of GRP78 in whole cell lysates and conditioned buffer Show less
