Disability Services Liaison
-
Jul 2018 - Dec 2019
As part of the University's Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office, I provided support to student veterans, and provided cultural competency to Disability Services staff and school personnel. I also assisted student veterans with general information about veteran's benefits they can receive on and off campus, veteran's activities both on and off campus, and referrals to other student support services locations on campus. Office activities included data compilation and tracking, data analysis and synthesis, and customer services to all office walk-ins. I also developed report with local community colleges' SAS offices in order to ease the transition of services from their institution to our University. Show less

Roustabout
-
May 2013 - Jul 2014
As a Roustabout on a drilling platform I was able to build upon my mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience I had acquired through my time in the Army in a completely different environment. My main function was to assist the crane operator in all loading and offloading operations; maintenance and inspection of operational equipment used for drilling operations; was part of a fire-response and personnel rescue team; and assisting rig managers in all equipment inventory. While working at this company, I was able to apply my team management skills as I was assigned to be an assistant ground team leader by my third work rotation; working a 21/21 day cycle. As the ground team leader, I was responsible for overseeing the safety of all crane-crew operations as well as supply boat inventory and inspection. It was a very hard, but extremely rewarding experience. Show less

Tank Commander
-
Oct 2009 - Feb 2013
Tank commander and platoon sergeant in an Armored Tank Company. Responsible for 12 enlisted soldiers and 6 subordinate Noncommissioned officers; four tanks valued at over $17 M and their equipment; training, scheduling, health, and safety of personnel assigned to me. I was the primary instructor for all assigned platoon training. In all honesty, this career allowed me to become highly skilled in personnel and time management, risk assessments, employee evaluations, and more than that, allowed me to learn how to interact with people from all around the world. Having this experience has made me a very competent leader, self-starter, and mission oriented, not to forget loyal employee. Show less
