Arthur returned to the Henry’s Fork Foundation for 10 weeks in the summer of 2021 as an in-person intern with PhD candidate Jack McLaren. Arthur and his mentor gathered water quality data from a local reservoir using a water quality sonde to assess and model the impact of drawdown on water quality and fish habitat suitability. Furthermore, Jack and Arthur presented the results of their research at the American Fisheries Society fall meeting in November of 2021 and are currently developing a manuscript for publication in a special edition of the North American Journal of Fisheries Management (reservoir symposium proceedings). During the summer of 2019 Arthur participated in the Keck Geology Consortium Internship and worked for five weeks assessing the levels of coral reef species (Acropora cervicornis) decline on a mesoamerican reef in Ambergris Caye, Belize. Along with eight other interns, Arthur spent three weeks at Washington and Lee University and two weeks in Belize gathering field data and becoming scuba certified. After gathering data, he returned to Washington and Lee to analyze and organize data, create charts, develop abstracts, and eventually posters as well, which were then presented at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in December of 2019. Arthur is also a co-author on one of the abstracts presented at the conference, which is titled "The Response of Algae and Herbivores to Acropora Cervicornis Coral Decline: A Case Study in Coral Gardens, Belize".
