My work at the Applied Bioinformatics Lab (ABiL) involves the development of bioinformatics methods for public health pathogen surveillance, metagenomics and industry research. In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, I have developed software and algorithms for next generation sequencing analysis for nationwide and global public health programs. I also teach continuing education and workforce development courses with ABiL, working to bring bioinformatics into the life sciences. I deliver a wide range of courses from introductory linux, programming in R and Python, machine learning and computational genomics. Show less
