Enactus Sheffield is a student led social enterprise whose main mandate is to provide economic opportunities for people in need in both the local and international communities through business concepts and an entrepreneurial approach.As project leader for the Energy Project, a project aimed at providing a rural community with a sustainable supply of gas and electricity through renewable means, my roles entailed;-Managing a team of 6 undergraduate students (5 Mechanical Engineering and 1 Informatics) -Creating budget schemes-Setting up project timelines-Liaising with project partners-Providing technical knowledge and partaking in general project research-Reporting to the executive team on progress of the project

I completed a 6 week protein engineering research as part of the university's summer undergraduate research experience. Under the tutelage of Dr Tuck Seng Wong, I conducted experiments aimed at engineering Ralstonia eutropha to convert CO2 to useful products through a synthetic biology approach. The project has since been taken over by doctoral researchers in Wong's group.
