Intermode builds the ultimate tool for any local robotic delivery service, the Modal. The Modal is the universal robotic vehicle that lets people start and grow their dream businesses now, not $1M and a year from now. As you scale, we'll be there to make it easy and flexible, not drag it down with lengthy engineering and manufacturing timelines. We start with a highly capable EV platform that we then put a body on top that best meets your individual business's needs from a visual and functional aspect. We make it easy to use, and software/compute agnostic. Our leasing model ensures we're invested in your success, and our vehicles are built to last. Show less

Co-Founder, Find Your Ford

Jul 2017 - Jan 2020
A bold approach of how an OEM like Ford can create a profitable end to end used vehicle business by focusing on the customer and taking a lean approach to building the business and the software. Seeded with $250k within the FordX incubator, My co-founder and I were able to build a product, vision and business model for a business to generate over a $1B in incremental revenue within 5 years of inception. In our time, we directed and managed our own agile software teams, deployed our own marketing, sold our vision to executives and received permanent funding from NA leadership. Our work to get buy-in from senior executives led to the creation of a permanent used vehicle team with funding to create the vision based on the product roadmap we set out to build. Electric Vehicle Structures Research Engineer
-
Oct 2016 - Jun 2018
Actively optimized and designed components for Ford's next generation battery electric platform and vehicle. Worked to create a flexible platform to accommodate future (10+ years) needs. Several Patents received in the course of this workConsulted with the development of autonomous vehicle hardware design and packaging. Designed multiple iterations to balance cross functional requirements. Completed studies of mixed material architectures to balance cross-functional requirements (mass, hardware, packaging and structural requirements). Studies informed and changed pathway for future vehicle designs. Exposed and familiar with a variety of future manufacturing methods and materials. Show less

Responsible for all on road vehicle actions, behaviors and road worthiness before driving. Among the responsibilities were to create and implement road and emergency procedures for the caravan surrounding the vehicle and to implement vehicle checklists to ensure reliability, safety and road worthiness. Vehicle was driven at a maximum speed of 130 kph, and 100 kph while experiencing 45 kph crosswinds.

Engineering Director
-
Jan 2014 - Jan 2016
Managed 40 engineers and a $500,000 budget over two years to design, build, test and race a solar power vehicle across the Australian Outback. The vehicle consumed 37% less power at 100kph than the previous model and was built under budget, ahead of schedule and finished the fastest time in Michigan Solar Car history. • Managed system integration across all disciplines which included the electrical, mechanical, aerodynamic and strategy sub-divisions• Designed and implemented new recruiting process to better train recruits and integrate them into the current team• Moved team to using Smartsheets for all budget and timeline activities. Managed entirety of design, testing, procurement and vehicle performance. • Vehicle went under budget by $60,000 due in-house manufacturing and designing for manufacturing. Timeline for manufacturing was reduced from 12 weeks in 2013 to 7 weeks in 2015. • Managed relationships with several OEM, 1st Tier and 2nd Tier industry contacts to aid in the construction and development of the car • Personally designed two new suspension parts after 1st iteration failed and were driven on two weeks after design start date• Designed Composite safety cage was designed to F1 regulations, increasing safety, while decreasing aerodynamic drag• Vehicle performance modeling was changed to a weather probabilistic model to better evaluate total performance.
