In May of 2015 our client was so happy with the project work on the Dalevest app that we have delivered so far that we were able to change the engagement to a permanent consulting job. Here we are in charge of their cloud back end, JSE integration, iOS and Android mobile applications. We also have developed extra apps for them called DalevestTrader and GrainElite. We are also working on creating our own trading platform through the JSE in partnership with Dalevest. We were approached by a startup from Pretoria to create their backend system and API for a system that acts as the middleman between credit providers and debt counsellors. We created a cloud based system on Microsoft Azure’s platform, with various third party system integrations including Compuscan and Simplicity. After just a few months we had a completely automated system up and running. Intervate contracted me to assist them with all the mobile apps and systems they were busy with. During my time there we wrote a framework for them for community issue logging. Using this framework we refreshed the JRA application, deployed a version for Snap, Eskom and various others. We also developed the VayaMoja app for the EcoMobility festivals in Sandton. My responsibilities here consisted mainly of development, however I was quickly moved into more of an unofficial lead role. After a couple of months the engagement had moved offices to the Sandton area. After the move, the roles had been more clearly defined, and I could focus on development only.
