The Gen-O Program is 12 months structured talent development program, focused on early-in-career and new-to-industry talent from diverse backgrounds. It’s Oracle’s brand-new career development initiative, focused on identifying and advancing early-in-career and returnship talent through a tailored Customer Success program. As a Gen-O Apps Sales Representative, Arno has learned how to understand the solutions, inspire customers through storytelling and harness the power of social media to influence new business. In a nutshell he has learned to: Create sales opportunities, actively develop product knowledge in a range of Oracle Cloud technologies, gain an in-depth knowledge of Oracle competitors & industry trends and developed an understanding of customer needs in order to link them to Oracle products.

      (student job) Calling companies and ask for the fleet manager or someone responsible for the fleet about a new car (Skoda & Volkswagen). Convince the person who was in charge to accept a test drive. During this job I had to work closely with the call center supervisor. He gave me some useful tips about convincing, which helped to succeed in the job. Another task was some administrative work. I learned that a successful business-like tone is warm, curious and and straightforward. Each cold call you make will help to become more confident and develop the technique which works best.
