  Responsible for the cutting machine production department with focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Use key point indicators in each of these categories to measure success and drive improvements. Identify and resolve production issues using root cause and countermeasure analysis. Assist engineering with bom reviews and EQR’s (engineering quote request) for cutting machine projects. Set up assembly and test procedures for various components on the cutting machines. Assist with implementation of new products (DFMEA, PFMEA, first article, etc.). Developed each step of a broadband type pay scale for advancement of hourly associates. I monitor their progress and upgrade them accordingly. Maintain attendance and disciplinary records. Set up 5S checkpoints throughout the department. Monitor labor resources based on work load and make adjustments as necessary. Show less

  Utilized my experience as a production technician to provide technical support to our cutting machine customers via telephone and email. Assisted end users, distributors and our own service engineers with troubleshooting, operation, and part numbers of the machines. Also handled warranty claims.

  Performed functional test and calibration of CNC plasma, oxyfuel, and waterjet gantry cutting machines. Responsibilities included initial power up, software installation, mechanical and electrical calibration, verifying position accuracy of machines using laser interferometers, performing cut tests with each process on a given order, troubleshooting and repairing any electrical or mechanical problems found during these tests, close interaction with engineering and quality to identify root cause and establish corrective actions for any problems found, customer demonstrations, assisting with assembly of the machines, and training of new associates.
