  With my efforts on achieving all the items on my career plan, I had the opportunity to fulfill my one month minimum Community Volunteer Service item at the Ghana Water Company, Axim. Although it was a volunteer service, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about treatment, pipeline maintenance and Community relation. The eighth hours daily schedule at the Nsein Water Treatment Plant gave me a great insight on the various purification and filtration stages, the various regular water quality tests and the means of distribution of clean Water to the people of Axim and neighboring communities. The Community Volunteer Service would have never been complete without going into the community I volunteered to serve. I therefore informed my Supervisor Mr. Taylor on my interest in visiting the field with the pipeline maintenance team. He accepted my proposal and gave me all the necessary induction I needed for the field. While on the field, we did a lot of pipeline maintenance, attended to a few complains and also educated the community members on pipeline care and maintenance tips and the negative effects of prank calls. This period of voluntary service has developed me and developed my knowledge in water treatment and distribution. I have also learnt to develop my teamwork abilities, networking skills and occupational maturity level by the help hardworking officers at the Ghana Water Company, Axim branch. Show less
